I don't know about you, but myself and several people I love are experiencing so many challenging moments right now. In this moment, I have loved ones fighting for their physical health, mental health, financial freedom, and so much more. I've also experienced my own internal struggles with anxiety and depression creeping back in to my life. I have been trying to stay extra on top of my self-care; including, writing, reading, exercising, and meditating. Some days it doesn't seem like I can do enough self-care to stay in alignment with my soul.
I used to be so embarrassed to talk about my mental health struggles. Even as I am writing this to you I recognize that today has been a challenging day for me. I write this to you very vulnerably, as today it took extra self-care for me to be strong for you today. It took extra self-care for me to be strong for my husband and children today. It took extra self-care for me to seek the light and receive messages from God to write you this special message today.
I share my hardship with you today because this year I am reflecting on Easter in a way I have never seen it before. As myself and my loved ones are experiencing a difficult season, I am reminded that this holiday represents an opportunity for a rebirth! Sometimes we face real hardships and we feel so hurt and disappointed and we lose sight that everything is happening for our highest good. Something to remember when we feel hopeless from hardship; "There is purpose in the process." -Lysa TerKeurst
We suffer because God is either doing something through us or for us.
When we let go and let God we surrender our own desires and trust that all is happening for us and for God's purposes. If you are facing an incredible hardship in health, relationships, finances, or any other life challenges, I pray that you remember that you are stepping in to NEW LIFE. I pray that no matter your religion, you can open your heart this Easter and be reminded that this holiday is a celebration of unconditional love for you.
All is happening to grow your faith and help you to align with LOVE (God).
If you are experiencing hardships or need some extra support for your soul, here are 3 quick ways to lift your spirit and find the light in your darkness; from my heart to yours...
1.) Pray for your highest good.
A lot of times when we pray, we tend to think about all that we want and need. We tend to use our egos to pray instead of surrendering our circumstances to God. You are always being divinely guided, even when it doesn't feel like it. Praying for our highest good means that we know that this means we may face some challenging moments. It means that we recognize that what we might think is best for us, might not be. It means that we trust the process of life, even in our most painful moments. When I pray for my highest good, I feel a sense of calm. I feel like I can let go of control and worry, and trust that all is working out exactly how it is suppose to.
2.) Free write.
Grab the notes in your phone, a journal, an IPad, it doesn't matter what you use, just write out whatever it is that is hurting you. Get it all out! Pay attention to what is easy to write, what you are hesitant to write, and what comes to mind first. Free writing is communication from your brain to your soul. It is a powerful tool to connect the different parts of yourself and get clarity. When you are done writing out things that are hurting you, change your energy to what you are grateful for. When we release the negative, we make room to bring the positive in. When we write what we are grateful for, we invite in positivity and light in to our being.
3.) Play uplifting spiritual music.
When I am feeling really heavy and I've already exercised, prayed, and wrote in my journal, I turn on some background noise to shift the chemicals in my brain. This subconsciously begins lifting my mood, even when I am working on projects, business, or cleaning the house. (I'm even doing this right now as I write to you) Go to a google search and type in "lift my vibration" and you will find a variety of beautiful, soothing noises to help support your heart, mind, and soul.
Click here for an example of one I am listening to right now:
If you are experiencing hardship in this moment and these words connected with you, know that I am praying for you. I am grateful that God brought you to these words to help support your heart, and I pray that you find healing. Know that you are not alone. We are human and that comes with ongoing hardships in this life. What matters is how you bring yourself back to LOVE. God is always waiting to connect with you.
If you are not experiencing a specific hardship in this moment, know that I am still praying for you and I am so happy for you. I pray that you continue to find peace and joy in your life.
